Zimbabwe managed to see off Cameroon 2-0 in tough opening fixture to the tournament. The Worriors then took on the Nigerian Eagles narrowly losing by a solitary goal. This has left Zimbabwe in joint second place with Cameroon and Zanzibar although the other two have superior goal difference. The Worriors take on Zanzibar and Equatorial Guinea with wins ensuring that the Worriors go through. Meanwhile, the Young Worriors (U17) got off to a good start by dismissing Angola 1-0.
